Estimator
About Us
CS GAS is a specialist provider of well optimisation and production process control (SCADA) systems, and a trusted partner delivering gas field and industrial services. With a strong multidisciplinary engineering capability, our operations span fabrication (including pressure piping, vessels, and structural welding), mechanical assembly, electrical and instrumentation installation, and industrial control systems.
Our team works across complex engineering and infrastructure environments supporting projects within the energy, utilities, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality technical solutions, strong safety performance, and reliable project outcomes for our clients.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Estimator with multi-disciplinary experience (ideally across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process design, including fabrication) to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering and infrastructure projects by preparing detailed, accurate, and commercially competitive cost estimates.
Working across a diverse portfolio of projects within industrial, infrastructure, utilities, and manufacturing sectors, you will be responsible for developing robust cost models that support informed decision-making throughout the tendering and project planning phases. Your work will directly contribute to the organisation’s ability to secure and deliver technically complex projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and commercial performance.
Reporting to the General Manager – Commercial, and collaborating closely with engineering, design, and project delivery teams, you will ensure all estimates are technically sound, strategically priced, and aligned with both internal governance processes and client expectations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment where technical insight, commercial awareness, and attention to detail are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project estimates in accordance with industry best practice, ensuring strict adherence to company processes and procedures to support successful project delivery from initiation to handover.
- Develop comprehensive estimates across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process design scopes — including fabrication and installation components.
- Create and maintain Cost Plans and Cost Estimates aligned to WBS/CBS structures for pricing and contract documentation.
- Support tender submissions, bid preparation, and contractor cost analysis to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders — including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, consultants, agencies, and contractors — to gather and validate project data.
- Conduct market benchmarking and cost library development, ensuring up-to-date pricing and cost modelling tools.
- Report project estimation status, identify risks, and recommend cost-saving opportunities or process improvements.
- Attend site inspections and pre-bid meetings as needed to validate scope and site-specific requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve estimating tools, cost databases, and proposal templates.
About You
You are a commercially aware and detail-oriented professional with strong technical understanding and a proven ability to develop accurate cost estimates for multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
You are comfortable working in technically complex environments and collaborating with engineering and project teams to develop robust cost models and well-supported estimates.
You bring a practical understanding of construction and engineering project delivery, including fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities, and are able to interpret technical documentation and drawings to accurately assess project scope and risk.
Highly organised and self-motivated, you are capable of managing multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
You are confident communicating with a range of stakeholders and are committed to maintaining high standards in estimating practices and commercial reporting.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction and industrial estimating, with multi-discipline exposure across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering.
- Demonstrated experience with fabrication and installation scopes in heavy industry or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, construction logistics, HS&E regulations, and estimating methodologies.
- Experience in benchmark research to support cost library creation and innovation in cost modelling.
- Strong stakeholder communication and proposal writing skills.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple estimates in parallel.
Desirable:
- Experience working within EPCM environments
- Background in oil & gas, water infrastructure, mining or heavy industrial projects.
- This role may also suit experienced Quantity Surveyors with a focus on cost control and multi-discipline estimating.
